So Kevin and I had a great time on our "run away". We remembered the camera - but we forgot to take very many pictures. We started our trip off by missing the 6:20 am ferry by about 1 1/2 minutes. Slightly disappointing until we realized that to leave the terminal - we got to go through the new tunnel in Bremerton. The only way to go through it is while coming off the ferry. Since you have to pay more to come back to Bremerton on the ferry from Seattle, we didn't think we'd ever get to go through it. But we did - it is really cool - these huge murals/sculptures all along the walls. Very cool. Anyway, we drove around, and stopped at the Temple to do a session. We then headed over the mountain. Once we got to Leavenworth, we stopped at the Inn to pick up tickets to
Pirates of Penzance and were surprised to find out that our room was actually ready - so we got to check in 2 hours early. We stayed at this great bed and breakfast called the
Run of the River . We stayed in the "Up the River" room. This is the nicest place we have ever stayed in - but it was still very relaxed and casual. And the breakfasts were so big that we usually ended up eating lunch at 2 or 3 in the afternoon.
View from our private deck.

Kevin watching the wild life - deer, moose, birds, and a few guest saw bears.

The jay that would come get peanuts from our feeder every morning - the funniest was him trying to fight off one of the other jays that kept swooping in take some nuts.

The play was really good too - we had never seen it before and it was really well done - and had a little extra excitement when on of the actors broke the stage.
Over the weekend, we rode bikes (that the inn provides for all of the rooms - they even have tandem ones - but we forgot to try that out on Monday). Neither of us had ridden bikes since we were kids - but like they say - you never forget how to ride a bike. We are now thinking of getting some bikes :o)
We also went on a short hike, climbed down to the river (think it is the Wenatchee) along the side of the road where where we went for a drive, shopped in Leavenworth, and hung out in the room enjoying the jacuzzi tub, porch swing, reading (I finished 3 books :o)), napping without kids waking us up. I think Kevin actually got caught up on sleep - since he managed to make it the whole drive home without falling asleep (I was driving - and normally if Kevin sits still for more than 5 minutes he falls asleep - even if I'm talking to him) It was a great weekend!
More pictures of our hike/drive...

The only thing we didn't find all weekend was strawberry-rhubarb pie - my favorite and what I wanted for dessert...
Thanks Again Aunt Wendy and Isabella for taking care of the kids!!! I'll have to get some of the pictures she took ...

How long has it been since just the two of you got away?! That is so nice...and hilarious that the actors broke the stage! That must have been quite the play!
